of Special Scientific Interest and a European Special Protected

turn off half a mile before Brading at traffic lights signposed

is a sign on the right hand side indicating a sharp bend. Turn
immediately right after this sign down the lane marked 'private
road' to the farm. The farmhouse is on the right.

Harbour Farm is within an RSPB Nature Reserve and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Protected Area (SPA). It is well known for the wide range and diversity of birds, flowers and plants. There is a 15 acre freshwater lake surrounded by reeds in which private fishing can be arranged. The lake is in front of the Cottage and Lodge, and is home to a large variety of ducks such as mallard, teal, shelduck, pochard and tufted, as well as herons, swans and occasionally bitterns in the winter. Kingfishers can sometimes be glimpsed from the Cottage garden. The farm is only 250 yards from the harbour and is a bird watchers' paradise. There is good local shopping in Bembridge and safe, sandy beaches a few minutes walk away.
